Why We Built This Site
Texas provides several public access routes, yet each route answers a different question. The Orange County Sheriff's Office maintains its reports and county booking records. The District Clerk keeps felony files, while the County Clerk keeps Class A and B misdemeanor records. Texas Department of Public Safety operates the central Computerized Criminal History repository, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice tracks state prison custody. Registry information comes from the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We assembled the verified office contacts, search tools, request methods, and published charges so Orange County readers can tell those sources apart.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: addresses and phone numbers for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, courthouse clerks, and statewide record custodians
- Record guides: how to locate and understand Orange County criminal court cases, bookings, and registry entries
- Official check instructions: the difference between the DPS public name product and a FAST fingerprint personal review
- Record relief information: where Orange County expunction and nondisclosure filings begin under Texas law
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not an Orange County or Texas government service. We are not connected with a court, sheriff, police department, clerk, or state agency. Those limits mean:
- Certified court records and criminal histories cannot be issued here
- We cannot submit a TPIA request, expunction petition, or other filing for a reader
- No official criminal history or fingerprint check can be run through this resource
- Questions about how Texas law applies to one case require a licensed attorney
- Agency hours, charges, and procedures may change after publication
Only the record custodian, such as the sheriff, a court clerk, or Texas DPS, can provide an official or certified record.
Search Partners
Search boxes appearing on some pages are supplied and operated by outside companies. Those providers control their own results, prices, account terms, and data practices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports site operations. We do not set the provider's charges or decide which information its service returns. Official Orange County records should still be confirmed with the office that created or maintains them.
